My surprise welcome from motherhood

“ Being a mother is discovering strengths you didn't know you had and dealing with fears you never knew existed”.
Becoming a mom has been the most amazing experience of my life, Although it has also been one of the most challenging experiences of my life and I can’t just walk away and quit when it’s tough. It’s a good thing the hospital doesn’t have a return or exchange policy LOL.

Below are a few hard things about being a new mom.

  • You are sleep deprived
  • 24 hour human diner
  • You are always on the loop
  • You are lonely (when my husband is not around)
  • Breastfeeding hurts like a Mother F*****
  • You don’t feel like your old self
  • You feel incompetent
  • In pain from child birth & the list goes on……
* To add more to the list, Comment below. :)

So in order to get your groove back, below are some of the tips i find helpful

  • Go shopping
  • Register for yoga classes
  • Do something that you love every week
  • Treat yourself
  • Date night with hubby or friends
  • When all else fails, enjoy a glass of wine

As i said earlier, It’s a good thing the hospital doesn’t have a return or exchange policy.
I love my baby and I count my blessings every day that we are both healthy, and I get to raise my child in a solid and loving partnership.
I love it when he smiles, coos and giggles. I love seeing him adapt and grow. I love how strangers smile at me more. I love how much stronger my connections are to my family and friends. I love being a new member of the Mommy club now.
But, dammit, this motherhood thing is hard LOL.

  2. You don't have time to get your groove back until he is older. Find mental excapes and yes time to spend socializing other than baby talk. An hour a day makes such a huge difference but trying to do more than you are ready for disappoints you so take each day as it comes. Your baby will learn you but you will learn him waaaaay faster. It gets easier. Things fall into place notice I did not say "back" because nothing goes back to the same as it was till he is 10 yrs old. Lol sleep will come randomly and it will be enough once here and there. Breastfeeding hurts but waaaay better than getting up at night for a bottle. Your doing goood so far. Loving this little person so much is more stressful than anything. Lol

  4. Enjoyed reading your post... I have a one year old and another one on the way. Motherhood is definitely not easy like you said but I would do it over and over again. Finding time to unwind is a great way to cope but sometimes it's hard to create that time. In between work, daycare, getting home in time to prepare for the next day; I hardly find time for myself. Thanks for creating this lovely site and getting me hooked to it.
